In Harper Lee’s novel To Kill a Mockingbird, there is a distinct contrast of good and evil. In this novel, Atticus Finch is an admirable person who demonstrates good qualities, whereas Bob Ewell is a cruel, racist, narrow-minded, lowlife person who is, in this case, evil. Some of Atticus’ traits in the novel are integrity, sincerity, open-mindedness and acceptance of others. He believes that everyone has integrity and self-respect somewhere inside of everyone, and because of this, he strives to respect everyone, and make a noticeable effort to understand each point of view, whether it is dishonest or wrong.
