This assignment made me realize how much of a slow writer I am. In “Shitty First Drafts”, Anne Lamott says to sit and just starting writing your first draft; that doesn’t work for me. I realized that I tend to over think especially when I write. During my first go at writing this piece I was editing and revising as I was writing. Every sentence I wrote always felt like it could be rewritten. I also learn that I have to have written notes before I start typing anything. If I don’t it’s almost impossible for me to get going. That being the case, the only ways I would able to actually process all of the information was by taking notes and writing down quotes I deemed important.
