Pieta is an Italian word meaning pity and in art history it refers to the subject of the Virgin Mary holding the body of her dead son in her lap. Michelangelo’s pieta and Titian’s pieta are really amazing arts which where painted in (1498-1500) and 1557, but though they are different, they also share a lot of similarities.
