Richard was a successful banker. Unfortunately, he lost his life when he was on his way home from a business meeting. A driver crossed over the double lines and ran into Richard. He left behind a wife, Joann, and three young children.
Joann was very stressed out after her husband's death. Not only was she struggling to come to terms with his death, but she did not know how she was going to support herself and three young children while working part-time. Richard had an accidental death insurance plan, but when Joann filed a claim, it was denied. The insurance company stated that they denied the claim because Richard's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit. They also tried to say that Richard did not die in the accident.
