A chemistry student must stop a swarm of zombie flies from terrorizing the campus.
BRIEF SYNOPSIS:
When chemistry Professor, WILLIAM LADDERMAN, head of Science Studies gives his classroom an experiment on keeping flies alive, the experiment goes horribly wrong when a student, CHARLES CRUZ, enacts a plan of revenge on his ex-girlfriend, KATHARINE SILES, who declines his advances.
Charles injects a biohazard material on her flies, killing them. Katharine and the professor are baffled and decide to examine the flies to determine their cause of death.
Katharine accidentally cuts herself and blood drips on one of the flies. The fly comes back to life.
Later, the fly, growing in size, finds a way to escape.
Katharine seeks help from RICHARD,…show more content… In a middle of a crisis, one can’t wait. For example, there’s a sense of a good ticking clock when they do the count down for the arrival of the fly. This does work nicely.
Also, in the climax, consider the idea that the hero has to make hard choices and perhaps save someone they care about, or make a moral sacrifice to save someone.
The title Zombie Fly implies that if one is bitten that the person will turn into a zombie, like the janitor in the opening, but the characters that are bitten don’t really turn into zombies. It also seems that when Katharine is attacked that she would have had some consequence from this. Thus, this is another consideration that in the climax Katharine is bitten and has to find a way to stop the power of the virus etc.
Consider the tone. It’s not a serious, terrifying creature film. It appears to be a dark-comedy. The problem with this is that it’s not funny enough or sardonic enough for a dark-comedy.
For example, saying thing like “Cop taste good… need salt though,” isn’t organically funny. The professor talking like Elmer Fudd isn’t naturally amusing. To make this work, elevate the wit and sarcastic humor. A good example of a dark-comedy film is THIS IS THE
