William Shakespeare the well-known playwright was born on April 23 1564 and died on April 23 1616. Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway at age 18 and had three children. After a few years of the birth of the twins (Hamnet and Judith), he went to London, England leaving his wife and children behind at Strand ford-Upon-Avon. Like everyone else, many scholars believed that Shakespeare’s relationship with Anne did not run smoothly because of the will that Shakespeare wrote his wife, Anne only gets the second best bed and furniture. Hermia and Lysander, who are both from the city of Athens face many problems throughout their relationship with the law of Athens to the magic potion that twisted everything up. In the time that both the couples lived in filial duty (duty to family) was contemporaneous. Hermia’s duty to her family was to fulfil the request of her farther (Egeus) to marry Demetrius but Hermia refuses to marry her father’s choice of groom and insists to marry Lysander. Egeus knowing that the law will support him goes to the Duke of Athens (Theseus) with full of vexation asking the duke to punish Hermia if she does not marry Demetrius. When Hermia woke up from her sleep Lysander wasn’t there and she thought Lysander was dead and started looking for her love. While she was looking she saw Demetrius and started to accuse him for killing Lysander. Demetrius tells Hermia: “You spend your passion on a misprised mood: / I am not guilty of Lysander’s blood; / nor is he dead, for aught that I can tell,” (Act3, Scene 2, Lines 74-76). In this quote Demetrius is trying to tell Hermia that he didn’t kill Lysander and for all he knows Lysander is not dead.
