The book of Isaiah, shown in Isaiah 1:1 which identifies that Isaiah is the author of the book of Isaiah. The book of Isaiah was written between 701 and 681 B.C which was during the Babylonian captivity. The purpose for the book of Isaiah was because Isaiah was mainly called to prophesy to the kingdom of Judah. Judah was threatened with destruction by Egypt and Assyria, however, his life was spared by God’s mercy. Isaiah declared a message of forgiveness from sin and wishful expectation of God’s deliverance later in the future.
