"Woman Hollering Creek"by Sandra Cisneros, was a tragic story about a girl named Cleofilas. Cleofilas gets married with a guy named Juan Pedro, she thinks that everything will be like a telenovela and that he is the guy that she has always been waiting for, but she was wrong. She thought her life was going to be like one of the girls in the telenovelas, but then a bunch of problems come. Juan Pedro beats her and she doesn't leave him and endures the abuse, then Cleofilas has a child and gets pregnant again, she goes for a sonogram and the doctors tell her that they need to make sure the baby is okay. This story goes deep into the issues on what immigrants and others have to go through. It shows how some women are treated and a lot of gender
