Walking into a restaurant or bar and smelling the putrid smell of cigarette smoke is not anyone's favorite thing to smell when they walk into any room. Smoking sends thousands of chemicals into the lungs and then those chemicals get sent to the brain and start changing everything about a person's body. Those chemicals control how addictive the cigarette can be and they will even start changing a bodies DNA strands and the way a body reproduces. Smoking also puts anyone at a higher risk for any disease including all forms of cancer. Smoking should be banned in public places because it is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States, it is more expensive for companies that allow it to take place and smokers themselves, and it is…show more content… Many smokers don’t want to smoke but they have to so they can satisfy their addiction. A lot of smokers can’t smoke just smoke one cigarette on their lunch break or out in public because it's not enough for them so they feel the urge to smoke in their car or while walking down the street or in a restaurant or even their own house. Although smokers need to fill their addictions they need to have a designated space in public if they are going to do that. These special spaces come at a cost and not everyone will obey them and they will still smoke in non smoking public areas. A lot of smokers never thought they would be smoking but they picked up the habit from someone close to them. Many see their parents smoking when they are kids and they think that it's ok if their parents are doing it so they try it once and get hooked. These kids are educated enough to know the difference between right and wrong and they need to take initiative and make that decision for themselves to never pick up a cigarette. Many people need tobacco because it is addictive and they can’t stop using it if they wanted to. Smoking is something nobody wants to do after they get addicted but it controls their life and everything in it. Many people get addicted because their friends get them to try it and then it takes control. All in all everyone should be respectful and not discriminate others for their habits no matter how unhealthy or gross the habit
