Hello Anne, after reading the entire story. Do you still feel that the Miranda rights still protects defendants? Even after the suspect is caught at the scene but didn’t commit the crime. Do you think that every suspect deserve the right to be innocent until proven guilty. As we can see that Mr. Jones wasn’t the person that killed Mrs. Jones and Mr. Smith, however, Mr. Jones did plan to kill his wife. He has been planning to kill his wife for 2 years. In my opinion, confession or not the officers should have done their job correctly. Instead of throwing questions at Mr. Jones when he’s confessed mind state.
