In the beginning of the book Scott suggests to get on a White Water rafting trip. His friends agree with that idea, although Mouse isn't quite sure if he wants to go. He thinks that something terrible is going to happen. After a lot of thinking he decides to go with his friends. On the first two days the trip goes perfect.
