In society, people who have a close relationship will have a different lifestyle and will make them feel better. That may be true, but that’s not always the case. In the stories “Without Title,” by Diane Glancy,”What of this Goldfish, Would you wish?,” by Etgar Keret, and “A Visit to Grandmother,” by William Melvin Kelly, all have a relationship between a character and character, or character and animal.
In the story, “Without Title,” by Diane Glancy, the Father and Buffalo have a very special relationship. The Father would hunt the buffalo every single day, but that changed when the Father had to move into the city and work in a packing house, The Father misses hunting the buffalo and always admired it. “I remember the silence of his lost power, the red buffalo painted on his chest. Oh, I couldn't see it but it was there, and in the night I heard his buffalo grunts like a snore.”(39).
