Here, Navarro did not act responsibly. Neither he nor other employees of Wal-Mart had seen Cockrell stealing merchandise. He detains Cockrell by just seeing a “bulge” under Cockrell shirt and the act of Cockrell, which he felt suspicious. Detaining Cockrell without any evidence and right justification is a case of false imprisonment. To be a false imprisonment, Navarro must willful detain Cockrell that is performed without consent or authority of law (FindLaw). After thoroughly reading the case, it is clear that Navarro deliberately detains Cockrell without any sufficient evidence of shoplifting.…show more content… However, in case of genes, the argument made by defense attorney is not convincing. According to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Human Genome Project has already accomplished in sequencing the whole human genetic code (Lessy, 2013). Further, Human genome Project is not interested in patenting that genetic code. The ACLU attorney argued that in fact, research and investment will get discourage or hinder if gene are allowed to patents. Plaintiffs' attorney has mentioned that since Myriad introduction of BRCA1 and BRCA2, there has not been any innovation in past five years. Further, the patent will establish the Myriad monopoly. The monopoly means the women who have lower income and uninsured have to suffer. In my opinion, the Supreme Court decision will not affect the investment in biotechnology. In the global perspective, the word outsourcing provokes controversy. Some people believe that it is the moral obligation of the company to protect the job of its parent’s country’s citizen. Also, these people argue that the outsource produce is of reducing quality and services and put the qualified worker in the parent nation out of work.
Whereas, other believes that the wealth maximization should be the organization priority and if outsourcing helps in wealth maximization, the company should opt to do so. Parents companies are moving from wealthy nation to developing countries where the needs of the job are much higher. If seen from a different perspective, outsourcing helps provide employment and income for the other countries like Mexico, India that might direly need help. Further, in today’s competitive world, customers are demanding low-cost, high-quality product therefore organizations have no alternative than lowering their expenses to remain competitive in the marketplace.
