In "The Treasure of Lemon Brown" a young boy named Greg Ridley, has a problem with his father and his grades. While taking a walk, to avoid his father’s lectures, Greg meets an old Blues singer named Lemon Brown, who tells Greg a story, and taught him that everyone has their own treasure. When Greg is {present or past tense? Don't switch!} failing math, his father is being really hard on him. Greg’s father had to drop out of school when he was about Greg’s age, and he wants Greg to get the education he didn’t get. Because of his math grade and his father, Greg won’t be able to play basketball, upsetting Greg. Greg’s father believes that his son could do much better in school, and probably won’t let Greg play until his grades improve. There he meets an old Blues singer, named Lemon Brown. Lemon Brown first asked if Greg was one of those people trying to steal his treasure. At first Greg doubt that a poor man like him could possibly have anything, but then Lemon said, “Every man got a treasure. You don’t know that, you must be a fool!” Overhearing their conversation, a couple of neighborhood thugs busted in trying to steal Lemon‘s treasure, and Greg and Lemon hid upstairs. Greg made a sound, making the thugs believe something was there. When the thugs ran out Lemon revealed his treasure to Greg, which was a harmonica. Lemon then explained that he gave that harmonica to he son, Jesse, who died in war and was told that Jesse treasured that harmonica, so Lemon treasured it because that’s the only thing he has of his son, whom he loves very much, and to remind him that his son really did loved him even though he wasn’t really there for him.
