“Close friends are truly life's treasures. Sometimes they know us better than we know ourselves. With gentle honesty, they are there to guide and support us, to share our laughter and our tears. Their presence reminds us that we are never really alone.” I feel similar to Van Gogh sometimes I don’t know what I want or what will be better but my friends will help me make the right decisions. When creating art projects I am sometimes stuck and they will help me, I might not agree with them and we might not agree throughout the process but them being there doesn’t make you feel alone. Van Gogh always put his art first and would rather spend money on art supplies than food. Starry Night, was painted when he was suffering clinical depression and was admitted insane, after slicing his ear. The art piece is relaxing, and shows that everyone was isolated in the town. The bright crescent moon shows brightness symbolizing God and his plan for humans. Also according to Van Gogh Gallery, the eleven starts in the sky relate back to Genesis 37:9 "[…] he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me." That the eleven stars Van Gogh painted was to reflect to the eleven stars from the Bible. Another interpretation is that Van Gogh felt isolated from the world. When looking at the piece there are no people visible, and the only way someone can interpret that there are actually people is with the light in the houses. He also painted this painting when he wasn’t in his best behavior or health. I can interpret this because instead of painting a village more close up he decided to draw one form farther away given the feeling that he is showing what he might see when he dies. That instead of going into the village looked over it from the outside or inside a building. There are many interpretations of The Starry Night because nobody really knows what Van Gogh’s intention was when he painted this
