The Kojiki myths’ primary function lies in legitimizing the world order in the Japanese state. Regarding how it talks about the Yamato rulers, it states that they have the right to rule the Earth as they are descendants of heavenly gods. From these gods such as Izanami and Izanagi, the emperors are descended. The Kojiki myths outline the creation of islands, gods and kings of Japan, and one of the stories handles Prince Ō-usu, who is later recognized as Prince Yamato the Brave. Phrases such as “the text treats him as if he were an emperor” may seem to be appraisal or even beautification of Yamato imperial family.
