The Iranian Coup D’etat was a covert action by the CIA to overthrow the Iranian government, this was headed by Mohammad Mossadegh. Following Muhammad's power was the Shah. Although the CIA was successful in overthrowing the Iranian government, there was a big cost. This was not only achieved through money this also took materials and strategy. The CIA was also not alone, the british helped the CIA to overcome the government. The reason why the British wanted to overthrow the government was because Iran wanted to control Persia, a part of Iran that was influenced by the British. This land was a great source of oil that the British depended on during World War II. Also this export of Iran was an essential source of revenue for the British. The company and the British also taxed the sale of oil, which made the both more wealthy. Iran had no control over their largest export because the British had so much control. The CIA overthrew the Iranian government because Iran did not want other countries to take advantage of their resources. Iran's Prime minister, Mosaddegh decided that Iran must profit from their biggest resource. So he decided to act against the other countries in control of the AOIC. This resulted in a nation wide feud with Iran. Other countries boycotted the Oil so Iran would not make any profit on their main resource. This boycott did not have the outcome that was expected, so the CIA had to use physical action by removing their prime minister. This lead to the Iranian affairs crisis, because they had the aid of the Soviet Union, they became apart of the Cold War. The constant interference of foreign powers, resulted in a separation of Iran from the rest of the world. This has not just impacted Iran but many countries and allies.
