The Importance Of Water In The NHL

The company I decided to choose is the National Hockey League (NHL). They conducted their very own sustainability report in 2014, which includes a variety of different metrics that they both measured and reported on. The one metric I am going to specifically focus on is water, which in my opinion is the most important.
NHL commissioner, Gary Bettman states, “Our sport can trace its roots to frozen freshwater ponds, to cold climates. Major environmental challenges, such as climate change and freshwater scarcity, affect opportunities for hockey players of all ages to learn and play the game outdoors” (NHL SUSTAINABILITY REPORT). Water, being as scarce as it is now a days was ranked as one of the major concerns on the NHL’s sustainability report.
