The editorial cartoon “Transported”, drawn by the famous cartoonist Herblock, was displayed in the Washington Post, an American daily newspaper. Herblock was best known for his commentaries on national domestic and foreign policy issues occurring in America. He was very passionate about politics during his lifetime and often drew cartoons to express his opinions. The cartoon was printed on July 18, 1969, two days after the Apollo 11 space mission. The purpose of the cartoon is to bring attention to the issues that are occurring in America to the audience. The drawing shows a man staring intently at his television set on a crescent moon, oblivious to the black clouds surrounding the planet Earth with the words “war”, “poverty”, and “prejudice”
