The drum pattern luo gu of lion dance meaning gong and drum are used in the lion dance. The tools of music consist of tools idiophone qiang (cymbals) and luo (gong). While musical membranophone on played is called shigu (Lion drum). There are two types of luo that used in lion dance which are da luo and xiao luo or two pairs of cymbals. The first instrument is a large lion drum with two drumsticks with 22 inches of diameter. This type of drum is called as "shigu", is the main rhythm element of the "dragon dance" and "lion dance" teams in Lunar New Year celebrations. This kind of drum has lovely paintings of Chinese-style lions. The large drum (shigu) shaped like a bin with a skin on the top. Its body is made of high quality wood and is about 75 centimetres, at a diameter of 2.1 meters. The diameter of the skin is about 60 centimetres.
