The blood borne pathogen is related to my field agency because social workers can be exposed to bodily fluid or blood. On the other hand, a client can accidentally puke in the office of a social worker which can also be considered an exposure. Some of the safety precautions at my field in place at my field agency includes; universal precautions, required annual blood bone pathogen training online, personal protective equipment (PPE), gloves, facial mask, sklar disinfectant solution to clean up spills of any form of fluids.
One of the ways I could protect myself is to adhere as well as utilize the precautions provided by the agency when necessary.
