“The Best Slow Dancer” by David Wagoner shows an insecure man that is dancing with a girl of his dreams. Wagoner uses second person and poetic devices such as enjambment and slant rhyme to show that the narrator wants this dance to last forever. In “The Best Slow Dancer”, second-person words like “your” and “you” keep the reader as well as the narrator in the moment. It also shows that the narrator is reminiscing the dance with the girl.
