Summary Of Spice By Kim Davis
199 Words1 Page
Several connections can be made between the story of Kim Davis and the themes of SPICE. The event fits best into the categories of social structure, politics, and culture. One can argue that the event fits into the other two categories, but it is hard to make these connections because the event is still developing and we cannot yet fully understand the extent of its effects. Socially, homosexuals have always been considered a minority group. They are disliked, prejudiced against, and their orientation is usually used as a joke or offensive term. Kim Davis is directly interfering with the acceptance of a minority. In regards to politics, Davis' decision to not distribute marriage licenses can be directly traced back to the Supreme Court ruling.
