The writer, Robert Ferris, is able to achieve his purpose resourcefully by discussing what establishments and marine life have been threatened since the outbreak of the toxin. Ferris organizes his information from weak to strong. The first page is created to warn the reader of what the pollution is capable of, although it contains very dry data. As the material begins to flow, examples are revealed to support particular facts, and a professor and a biologist add on to the bigger concerns. Also, Ferris reaches his point through a consistent style of negative slanting of facts. “Worth-while opinions call for knowledge of reliable facts…” and the people that Ferris quotes seem like they’re credible enough (Birk and Birk 34). Overall, I believe
