The book that I read was Hatchet written by Gary Paulsen. It is a story about Brian Robeson surviving in the wilderness. By reading this story, I learned a lot from Brian on how to stay alive in the wilderness. And the story was very realistic. I’m going to Spain this summer holidays, and I think I can’t ride planes after reading this book! Brian Robeson, a 13-year-old boy who has divorced parents. His father doesn’t know why his mother wants to split. They have The Secret. He is supposed to stay with his mother during the school years, and he has to spend the rest with his father. So that summer, he goes to the Hampton airport to go to the Canadian oil fields to meet his father. Before riding the plane, his mother gives him a hatchet as a gift since he is going to the Canadian woods. He attaches the hatchet on to his belt and forgets to detach. Brian sits at the co-pilot’s seat and thinks about the words Divorce, Split, and The Secret. While going to the Canadian oil fields, the pilot dies because of heart attack.…show more content…
He wishes Perpich, the english teacher once was there with him because he used to think positive. With his hatchet he finds berries and builds his shelter with branches. He also meets a bear in the woods and suffers the hardness in the nature. As time pass, Brian is attacked by a porcupine, learns how to make fire, makes a fishing spear from a tree branch, and eats some really gross stuff.
