In, “From Degrading to De-Grading,” Alfie Kohn shares his objection towards current school grading systems. To prove his point that grading systems do more harm than good he splits his article into six sections. Kohn’s first section lists three main problems with grading students. In summary, grading students’ results in students showing little interest in actual learning, students choosing easier assignments, and less creative students (p. 254-255). In addition to the three main points, Kohn adds seven more reasons to drop the grading system altogether. This second section includes the unreliability of grades, how grades distort the curriculum, how grades waste time, encourage cheating, and ruin relationships between students and teachers
