News Critique of Genetic Screening
A new genetic screening method for breast cancer has been promoting for its convenience and low expense (Stein, 2015). Genetic Screening is a double-edged blade which has lead a long-lasting debate since its invention.
The benefits of genetic screening are outstanding because it expands scope of the prevention of diseases. For instance, the women who carry mutated BRCA1/2 gene would have higher risks for developing breast cancer. Depends on carriers’ situations, such as age, options to take mastectomy would be provided in order to prevent breast cancer. At this time, a cheap and in-home screening that gene would help them to make choices without an expensive conventional genetic test.
However, every screening
