Studying abroad will grant me with viewing the world from an unfamiliar perspective and connecting with people that are different than who I am. Learning how to communicate appropriately and effectively is a main component in my chosen career field. Studying abroad will allow me to begin preparing myself for becoming a speech language pathologist. Being able to connect on a personal level is another key component of being a speech pathologist because one has to earn their client’s trust and respect. I am going to have clients from all different backgrounds and I am going to have to respect their culture and customs. Studying abroad will thus expose me to all these unique cultures and customs, preparing me of all the different types of clients
