Often Smeagol is considered evil, but what is not thought of most often is who Smeagol was when he had the Ring, also when the Ring was lost from him. Some of the reasons are, Smeagol couldn’t have been evil before he knew about the Ring. Another point that is mostly reflected upon is, Smeagol is evil because he killed Deagol. With one final point which is, it was never Smeagol it was the Ring and the Ring left a little bit of itself behind. Smeagol is not evil, he was overpowered by the Ring.
