Roberto Clemente was a good humanitarian. He was the first Latin American player elected to the baseball Hall Of Fame. Roberto Clemente inspired many people with his good humanitarian contributions. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal by the United States Congress in 1973. He was also often referred to as “The Great One”. Roberto Clemente was born August 18, 1934 in Carolina, Puerto Rico. He signed a deal with the Brooklyn Dodgers and played with their minor league team.
