Imagine being thrown in a dark and dingy jail cell for no apparent reason and eight white clergymen write a letter pronouncing the court system would ultimately be the deciding factor in the basic rights you are fighting for. That is exactly what happened to Martin Luther King but he didn’t give up; instead, he stood up and fought for what he believed in. He did this by writing the letter known as the “Letter from Birmingham Jail” in his written responds MLK brought to life the true hardships that surround African American communities.
