There has been a lot of talk lately about social media and it’s ways of spreading news and help throughout the world. In Evan Williams TED Talk “The Voices of Twitter Users” he mentions several ways that Twitter has evolved into much more than just a broadcast media. It is now used by millions to address important topics, spread news, and to give a helping hand. Unfortunately his audience did not include the elderly. Elderly people should be encouraged to use social media to become more active in their community and the world since they are so homebound.
