The True Noble Roman Although Antony refers to Brutus as “the noblest Roman of all,” Marc Antony should truly be crowned this title because of his loyalty to Caesar, the smartness in his speech, and the truthfulness in his thought. First off, Antony takes on the role of avenging Caesar because he is one of Caesar’s best friends, and he feels he was killed for wrong reasons not justifiable by the reasons given by the conspirators. Antony gives a speech after Brutus’s to explain his view of Caesar's death; he says, “Whilst bloody treason flourished over us. Our Caesar’s vesture wounded? Look you here, Here is himself, marred as you see with traitors” (Shakespeare 65). Antony wants to sway the audience into believing that his view of Caesar’s death being erroneous is more right, in order to…show more content… By slowly poking at the holes in Brutus’s speech, Antony is able to get ahold of the crowd and eventually steer them into wanting revenge on the conspirators for killing such an honest, non-harmful king. But what really makes Antony noble is his determination not to give up and go along with the conspirators. He shows the good model of a friend because even when Caesar dies he still makes sure everything possible to “help” him is done. This is accomplished through his great use of provoking emotional and sentimental aspects of Caesar’s killing on the audience. For instance, whenever Antony comes outside during Brutus’s speech, he comes out with Caesar’s body to provoke emotional sentiment in the crowd. This is one of the biggest pieces of the puzzle that gets the crowd to question the actions of the conspirators.
