Do you know the real story behind hypertension? Hypertension is the medical term for high blood pressure. What is high blood pressure? High blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood on the walls of the blood vessels. This force is established by the blood being bumped in and out of the heart. When the heart beats or contracts that is classified as the top number, or systolic. When the heart is at rest between every beat it is classified as the bottom number, or diastole. Blood pressure is known to increase and decreases with the influence of many outside sources such as: diet, exercise, and many objective items. Knowing the real story behind blood pressure can increase your knowledge on how to live a healthy life and present you with a voice of reason to share with others and maybe help change other lives as well. The first step of having the number one technique to control your health and body to avoid hypertension is knowing your numbers. There are four different categories of hypertension and each have a certain set of numbers that classify the rate of the blood moving in and out of the heart.
