Goel (2008) indicated that ‘euthanasia is an act of ending the life of a person from compassionate motives, when he is already terminally ill or, when his suffering has become unbearable.’This idea is developed by the theory of pleasure and pain which means pain and suffering in the way of dying is more terrible than death itself.In other words, the concept of euthanasia is to end a person’s life with dignity. Euthanasia can be classified into four types which is passive euthanasia, active euthanasia, physician assisted suicide(PAS) and involuntary euthanasia. The opponents of euthanasia will equates involuntary euthanasia as a type of murder as it is conducted without an individual’s specifically given acquiescence. Goel stated that the concept of euthanasia had already existed in the history under different forms.For example, medieval era, ancient Greece and Rome, and India. Despite the fact, Goel also pointed out some of the opposing arguments of euthanasia that cannot be ignored.Under Islam perspective, it is prohibited to commit suicide.Under Islam perceptive,it wants every man to devote their lives in serving oneself and the society because to them life is precious.In other words, life is not meant for oneself only.…show more content…
