Progressive Conservative In William Shakespeare's Hamlet

William Howard Taft was trained under Teddy Roosevelt to be the next progressive conservative. When William campaigned he did with a conservative idea’s but once he was elected he was neither progressive nor conservative. William Taft claimed to be something that he wasn’t. You may wonder what this all has to do with William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. In the play many Character like The King, Polonious, Rosencratz, Guilderstern were all two faced characters. They pretended to be something they were not for the benefit of themselves. Similarly Hamlet acted crazy and prolonged killing the king .Before the thesis here is some with backstory on this play, Hamlet’s father has been killed and his uncle has married his mother to become the king. This is the first time that he acts like this and it shows that even for the love of his life he will not be his true self and instead acts crazy. Later in the play Hamlet talks to Ophelia about beauty and goodness they debate if someone’s beauty can take away their goodness . Hamlet tells her “Ay, truly, for the power of beauty will sooner transform honesty from what it is to a bawd than the force of honesty can translate beauty into his likeness. This was sometime a paradox, but now the time gives it proof. I did love you once.” For once being true
