I believe it took almost a week of walking, an incredible amount of Google searches, and two trips to different museums to finally pick three finalists to analyze for this research paper. Pluto Abducting Proserpine by François Girardon was one that I saw at the Getty museum, it reminded me of Rape of the Sabine Women by Bernini with its twisted orientation. Psyche by Auguste Barthélémy Glaize and Jacob’s ladder by Jacques Stella were two paintings I saw at LACMA, both caught my eye for their whimsicality. For being aesthetically remarkable and painted on a surface I've never thought of painting on before I chose Jacob’s Ladder by Jacques Stella.
