Volunteering at the Mississauga hospital I experienced working in one of the busiest emergency trauma centers in Ontario. My experience infused from both patient contact and shadowing the Diagnostic imaging coordinator. I realized that speaking with the patients while demonstrating compassion and even a simple act of giving them a warm blanket brightened their day. Hence I experienced the importance of psychological positivity during a patient’s time in the hospital. Moreover, I got to help out resuscitation ICU and CCU patients with CT scans, MRI, X-rays, vascular lab procedures etc. Additionally, I got to learn the hierarchy system in the hospital ER department.
