Appearance of fracture: The pelvis consists of the ilium, acetabulum, ischium, and pubis. It is common that more than one of these bones are fractured following a road traffic accident. Once it has been determined that the injury is in fact a pelvic fracture it is important to consider whether to treat the fracture surgically or medically this can depend on a variety of different factors including, the condition of the patient, radiographic results, physical examination results and client factors.
