Overall, the pro patronage side of the argument presented many strong points regarding the benefits of patronage. Brian Allmen discussed how political patronage has provided efficient policy developments. However, I would like to say that while there are most certainly pros and cons of patronage (as we have seen through this debate), we have to execute a cost benefit analysis to decide whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Thus, it can be argued that there are more negative effects of patronage than positive.
