Patrick Henry: A Passionate Orator Patrick Henry was a passionate lawyer, politician, and speaker who was born in May 29, 1736 in Hanover County, Virginia. Since he came from a family of farmers, at the age of 10 his family knew that we was not going to be a farmer, and instead they trained him to be an intelligent young man. At the young age of eighteen, Henry married his first wife Sarah Shelton when she was only sixteen years old. After nineteen years of marriage, Sarah died because of a disease. It was also rumored that she died because she was possessed by the devil. According to the For te was elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses in 1765. He also served as the first governor or the republicanism of Virginia in 1775 and and again in 1784, as a member of the house of delegates in 1779 and 1788. In 1777, Henry was married for the second time to Dorothea Dandridge. The first president of the United States, George Washington, designated him to be Secretary of State in 1795, which was a great opportunity for Patrick Henry. Unfortunately, he refused the opportunity. Years later, a similar case happened when the President Adams established him envoy France, this time he declined the office because of health requirements. Him, being such a passionate speaker, amazed gave an impact on war to the audience. He said “We were all in it together (the fight for the truth)” basically clarifying how we could let everyone at war die for them and die for the country’s freedom, without even the population trying to help and make a difference. Henry shows that help, and not only by supporting with his incredible words on his speech but by his actions. A lot of help was needed immediately, and his last words on this speech which created the sentence that impacted everyone “give me liberty or give me death” reveals that he will fight for his country until he rests in
