Competitive swimming Informative Outline
General Purpose: To inform.
Specific purpose: to inform my audience about competitive swimming
Organizational Pattern:
Introduction
I. I leaned forward holding the bottom of the dive board staring at the water ready for my first swim meet.
II. When this happened to me 2 years ago at an indoor swim meet I was really nervous.
A. At the time, i didn't know what to think.
B. My coach told me later that it was ok and that it was my first meet.
III. Since then i have learned a lot more about competitive swimming.
IV. Today i would like to inform you about the different stokes of swimming. how to do each stoke. and what you have to wear.

II. Starting a stroke and doing the strokes can range from very easy to hard. A. With freestyle stroke you have to start on the block and jump into the water, alternating your arms back and forth while kicking your feet.

2. supporting material. B. Back stroke start is a little bit different then freestyle and fly start. When doing back stroke you start of facing the wall ready to push off. once pushed off the wall you alternate you arms backwards while kicking you feet.

Supporting material C. Fly start is just like the start you do when swimming freestyle the swimming part is more of pulling your arms from under the water and throwing them forward at the same time like a butterfly and moving feet in a mermaid form.
