The novel of mice and men was written in 1930 by John Steinbeck during the great depression. At that time people were going through tough times they had no jobs therefore they had to sell their house and move out of them so they can have money to support their salves. However the novel describes the life of a man and his best friend who has the mentality of a child. George and Lennie seem to have a strange but very strong relationship compare to the other characters in the novel.
