The most life-changing thing that has ever happened to me in my life was my mother dying. It was the most horrific experience I have ever been through, my mother died of cervical cancer back in 2006. I was only nine years old, she left me and my other four siblings behind. My grandparents raised my sisters and I since such a tragic event occurred. So many things happened that day, I can still remember them like it just happened yesterday. It was a month before Christmas and my mother constantly stayed in and out of the hospital for days, sometimes even weeks. I went to visit her in the hospital and stayed for about three days, but then I had to go back to school. The night my mother finally got released from the hospital she never came home, my grandparents and I were very scared and worried about the things that could’ve happened. All night she was gone and we didn’t have a clue on her whereabouts. When my mother finally came home, she had trash bags full of things trailing behind her. She then instructed my sisters and I to stay in her room while she took my grandmother upstairs to show her what was in the bags. That night my mother bought our Christmas gifts and gave them to my grandmother and told her what gifts belong to each child. Later on in the evening, it was time for my sisters and I to get ready for bed because we all had school in the morning, my mother made us sleep in her bed while she laid on the couch. The next morning, what we saw would forever change my life in the worst way. My mother there, just laying on the couch lifeless. All I knew was something was wrong because I witnessed my grandfather, a man that I have never known to shed a tear, cry and plead desperately to God to bring my mother
