This chapter summarizes findings of the research. It also helps facilitate the conclusions based on the findings and discusses the current scenarios at workplace and the relationship between the leadership styles and team effectiveness of multigenerational team. Accordingly, two hypotheses are stated and tested. The results show that the hypotheses can only be confirmed partially. The part of the hypotheses concerning the relationship between the participative leadership style and team effectiveness is confirmed. Therefore, it can be concluded that the participative type of leadership is positively detrimental to the effectiveness of a multigenerational team. This finding supports already existing literature on the effect of participative leadership on team effectiveness which will be discussed further below. The hypothesis concerning the relationship between authoritative and team effectiveness stated that there is a negative relationship between these two although it was not confirmed . Based on the team members’ scores and team leaders’ scores these results have been acquired.However, no support was found for the hypothesized negative effects of authoritative leadership style scores on the effectiveness of multigenerational teams. From the results presented in the previous chapter, it is evident that there is a moderately positive relationship which is also statistically significant between these participative leadership traits of the leader and the multigenerational team effectiveness. Hence this model insists that multi gnerationational teams are more likely to be increasing their effectiveness when led by a participative leader. To dive deeper into understanding the effects of participative leadership style on a multigenerational team, correlation tests were conducted between the 7 factors that determines the team effectiveness and the leadership styles. The following relationships were identified. To begin with Thrust which determines the goals and accomplishments of the team, participative leadership has a moderately positive relationship with the thrust factor. This indicates that as the hypothesis insists , the goals and objectives are clearly set and understood by all the team members which facilitates all the members work towards their defined goals and objectives without any disputes.The team leader who establish this type of leadership style will ensure that there is a common goal and purpose among the team members which unifies them irrespective of what generations they belong
