Andre’s Role Dilemma The first scenario is about a new teacher who is trying to develop a strong relationship with the students’ attending his high school. Andre’s background and life experiences are not of the same diverse socioeconomic culture as his students’ experience. Although, he is of the same race his cultural experiences are vastly different due to his middle class lifestyle. He tried to communicate using the same subculture language and/or slang, however; he is not received well, because it may have presented him as trying to fake his way into their group.
