Marzano's Nine Strategies Summary
299 Words2 Pages
Dr. Robert Marzano has outlined nine strategies that allow teachers to follow for effective classroom instruction. Marzano’s strategies are effective for teaching and increased student learning because each strategy focuses beyond the “correct answer.” By planning ahead each unit by aligning what is being taught to state standards, will keep the goal in mind. Without a goal, teachers can get sidetracked and not accomplish what they want to accomplish. Students must have feedback. Feedback goes beyond the “Good job” statement. Feedback includes time spent with each student going over strengths and weaknesses. It is discussing specifically what needs improvement and where they excel. Marzano also believes in nonlinguistic representations.
