The Pascal Mystery in Everyday Life
“Marley and Me” is a story that touches people who are not usually emotional. The first time that I saw the movie, I found myself tearing up and honestly was not able to speak. The story was first published by John Grogan in 2005, and the movie was produced in 2008. The movie is able to connect to the audience which leads to a connection to the Pascal Mystery.
The story starts off with a new married couple who want practice for starting a family. They decide that an easy way to prepare for the rigors of taking care of a family is adopt a dog. The Grogan family heads over to an adoption center where they find an energetic Labrador Retriever. John, the husband, chooses to adopt the dog and name it after a great reggae singer, Bob Marley. The troubles caused by Marley give John Grogan material for new articles that newspaper readers love. Jenny Grogan, the wife, becomes pregnant but suffers a miscarriage. Marley is there to support Jenny during this time, and she soon becomes pregnant again and gives birth to a son named Patrick. The family moves to another house and gives birth to daughter named Colleen.
