This is an update on the conversation I had with Susan Babcock this morning:
She stated, “I do not agree with one thing mentioned in the letter and it is the part that states that I mentioned that my leave of absence is indefinite.” I then explained to her that she did not state in those words exactly, but in the sense that she has made it very clear that she has no idea when she will be able to return. She has expressed that she has been improving in various areas but that she has no definite idea of when she will be able to come to work full-time. I explained that she informs me of every doctor visit but the doctors have yet to clear her nor have they given her a timeline. She agreed that she has told me this on numerous occasions.
She then expressed that she is hopeful that on the next visit on November 2nd that the Cardiologist will release her to modified work because she knows she probably will need assistance because she unable to do things on her own.
She went in full detail about the tests that she has taken and results have improved, but understands that she is still not at a level where she should be with her medical condition.…show more content… She mentioned that she is trying to figure out how she will be able to get her medication because she has several different types of medicine that will need to be refilled very soon. We then discussed this in detail about the concept that she will be basically starting over with a new primary doctor and needing a referral to see a new cardiologist and so forth. She expressed that she knew this but she had to consider that if she loses her medical insurance that Kaiser was cheaper on
