Persuasive Research Essay Should Oregon Raise the legal smoking age to 21?
Many people say smoking a is a good thing because it makes all your problems go away but in reality, I believe smoking brings more problems into people's life. Just when you thought smoking would help you be more relaxed in the long run it causes more stress. Smoking has caused over “400,000 deaths per year in the United States and 9 out of 10 started before they turned 21’’(“21”). That's not the only reason why I believe why Oregon should raise the legal smoking age to 21. People that smoke have a tendency to smoke around small kids causing second hand smoke. Young adults lungs are still growing and smoking at a young age can stunt the growth of your lungs.
